Neighbourhood Planning
A Neighbourhood Plan is a document created by the local community that helps to shape the development and growth of our local area through things like protecting green spaces, encouraging better designed buildings or opposing those that will have a negative impact. It gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood.
In January 2023 Far Cotton and Delapre Community Council took the first formal step in the Neighbourhood Planning Process by assigning the Neighbourhood Area (pictured below.)
Although at this stage a steering group has already been formed, we are still looking for local people who would like to be involved in this project. If you would like to participate in meetings, or if you'd like to know more, please contact Kate: clerk@farcottonanddelapre-cc.gov.uk.

The red boundary, shows the area that has been designated as the Neighbourhood Area.
Neighbourhood Planning Stages
Below you will find the formal stages involved in producing a neighbourhood plan. We are part way through the process of creating a Neighbourhood Plan for Far Cotton and Delapre, so you will find that only some of the steps have been completed.
