GATED ALLEYWAY SCHEME THORPE ROAD TO EASTFIELD ROAD
Residents have contacted Far Cotton and Delapre Community Council as they have experienced fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour along the service road. On Friday 1st October 2021, the community council arranged a site visit with residents, the police and your neighbourhood warden. You may have attended, at the meeting, a number of options were discussed to reduce the issues you are facing. One of the options discussed was "gating" the alleyway.
Some similar service roads in Northampton have been "gated." Locked gates would be installed at each end of the service road and keys would only be issued to those residents with rights of access. This should lead to a significant reduction in fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour in the area.
It is the residents of Thorpe Road and Eastfield Road who would need to take responsibility and meet the costs for the purchase and installation of the gates (although some financial support may be available through various funding schemes)
Before the service road can be gated ALL the residents affected, i.e., those with access to the road need to agree that this is what they want to do.
If you are unsure whether to support such a scheme or not you can talk to the Clerk at Far Cotton and Delapre Community Council by calling 07835 171870
This survey is only for residents directly affected by the proposal
